3 Season Room with deck

With this home we had several projects, they included updating a bathroom and making it ADA compliant, gutting and renovating the kitchen, and last but not least tearing off the old deck, building a 3 Season room with a storage "shed" below it, and new deck with composite decking.

I'm going to start with the 3 Season room project. This is one of the owners favorite spots

Step one was to remove the existing deck and all the fenced area down below it.

Step two is to frame in the new deck and walls of the 3 Season room and shed.

Step three finish framing the roof and sheath it

Kitchen Remodel #1

In this kitchen we had to work with a small space that we were not able to add on to.

Looking for solutions to provide more efficient use of the area along with more storage we were able to take advantage of the space above the cabinets by installing new cabinets that extended to the ceiling.

This gave us room to take the microwave up a level and install it above the stove thus getting it off the counter and freeing up valuable counter space.

The final product while in the same foot print and layout is more efficient. It has a glass subway tile backsplash, small counter top between the stove and the wall to eliminate the gap and keep the stove properly spaced from the wall to allow the door to open properly. In the end the space became much more friendly and inviting with a few special touches in a small space that had big ideas.

Bathroom #2

This bathroom remodel was more of a cosmetic then structural change.

We stripped everything back to the drywall and sub floor.

We replaced the old tub with a new one and installed tile with a nice accent.

The new floor consisted of larger tiles to replace the old 4" tile floor.

The new vanity sports a granite top with under mount sinks.

And a new energy efficient toilet tops off the changes.

Bathroom remodel

Much has happened since I last posted in 2009 so let me see if I can get you up to date in a series of posts. We have done some remodeling jobs that showcase interesting solutions to typical problems in both kitchen and bath areas.

Bathroom remodel #1

This Bathroom remodel involved an outdated bathroom that needed repairs in addition to modernizing.

We gutted the old bathroom removing everything including the drywall. This allowed us to insulate the exterior wall helping to make the room warmer and solving one of the issues the owners had.

By relocating the toilet we were able to install a larger corner shower that not only improved the room design and visual appeal of the room it made the space more useable.

Working with the owner's wishes and selections for the room we created a "new" custom bath in place of the old unappealing layout. The new design and layout makes the room modern and functional. Changing the tub to a corner shower unit really improved the space both functionally and in bringing the design into the current century!

After not Blogging for too long I am back. The project we were working on when I started this blog site is long finished. I am going to check with the homeowner and see if we can get some current pictures to post of their home.

In the short term I am going to post pictures of the final project. I ask that you bear with me a little bit as this format is a new adventure for me and I do get picky on how things line up and look, with that said I'm going to compose the next Blogg about this project and post it shortly. I did upload a final project picture for now.
